Objective

Re-engineering Laboratory Resources

Triple board certified Pathologist with over 25 years of experience in directing laboratories of various sizes, in various community settings. Have been known for providing high quality, low cost services by creative combination of academics and business approach to every aspect of laboratory and pathology outcome. This has been achieved by creating an efficient and cost effective infrastructure to support a broad customer base, innovative contracting and outcome based finality. Secondly, I believe Pathology leadership also includes educating all those with whom you interact: community at large to the politicians, administrative executives to physicians, nursing staff to office staff, employers to providers. Successful laboratories have educated customers in an informed community. Interactive customer relationship using modern technology can create a captive audience. Finally, I believe lasting success is derived from the sincerity in performance.
Accomplishments range from: Simple process improvements for potential sentinel events to implementing customized departmental TQM; OJT to combat labor shortage to community training of chief residents from major medical centers and organizing major educational seminars; Initiating POCT and workstation consolidation to planning and implementing major out reach programs; Restructuring inpatient phlebotomy to complete overhaul of the organizational structure of the lab; and Raising the standards of expertise at all levels, making the oncology service one of the best on the eastern shore. Final endeavor has been the creation of the first pathologist operated private laboratory in the state based on ÔHealthcare in Motion – Best of both worldsÕ.
